Topic: The Divine Beauty of Lord Sri Ram, Sita, and Lakshmana. The Devotion and Love of the Villagers.

Sri Ramcharitmanas, Ayodhya Kand, Pad 114, Composed by Goswami Tulsidas, Presented and Explained by Prof. S. V. S. S. Narayana Raju.

Dear Viewers, Scholars, Students, and Devotees, Namaste and a Heartfelt Welcome to Prof. S. V. S. S. Narayana Raju YouTube Channel.

In today's enlightening episode, we explore Pad 114 of Ayodhya Kand from the sacred Sri Ramcharitmanas, composed by the great saint-poet Goswami Tulsidas. This beautiful passage presents a deeply moving scene from Lord Sri Rama's journey into exile, accompanied by Mother Sita and His devoted brother Lakshmana. As Sri Rama, Sita, and Lakshmana approach the villages along their forest journey, the news of their arrival spreads rapidly. Children, elderly people, men, and women immediately abandon their household activities and rush to witness their divine beauty.

The villagers consider themselves extraordinarily fortunate to behold the enchanting forms of Sri Rama, Lakshmana, and Sita. Their eyes fill with tears of devotion, their bodies experience divine ecstasy, and their hearts overflow with spiritual joy. Goswami Tulsidas beautifully compares their happiness to that of poor people who unexpectedly discover a treasure of precious celestial jewels. Such is the immeasurable value of receiving the divine vision of Lord Sri Rama.

Some villagers encourage one another to make the most of this rare and sacred opportunity. Others become so deeply attracted by Sri Rama's divine personality that they continue walking alongside Him, unable to turn away. A few devotees preserve His beautiful image within their hearts, becoming overwhelmed with love and emotion. In the concluding Doha, some compassionate villagers notice the pleasant shade of a banyan tree. They spread soft grass and leaves beneath it and lovingly request the divine travellers to rest for a little while before continuing their journey.

This touching episode beautifully reflects pure devotion (Bhakti), divine love (Prema), compassion (Karuna), hospitality (Atithi Satkar), and the spiritual significance of Darshan in Indian cultural and devotional traditions. Through these verses, Goswami Tulsidas reminds us that true spiritual happiness does not arise from material wealth or worldly achievements, but from sincere devotion, humility, and the experience of divine grace.

In this video, we will explore the literary beauty, spiritual significance, emotional depth, and human values expressed in Pad 114, with special attention to Tulsidas's poetic imagery and his extraordinary portrayal of the relationship between God and His devotees. This discussion will also be valuable for students and scholars of Hindi literature, UGC NET Hindi, Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS), and Bhakti literature.

May the divine ideals of Sri Rama inspire us to cultivate compassion, devotion, humility, and righteousness in our everyday lives.

Jai Shri Ram. Jai Siya Ram.
