In this deeply moving episode of the Lanka Kand, the great war has ended and the victory of Dharma has been established. Lord Sri Rama lovingly summons Hanuman and gives him a sacred responsibility—to go to Lanka, convey the joyful news of victory to Mother Sita, enquire about her well-being, and return with her message.

Obeying the Lord’s command, Hanuman enters Lanka, where the people receive him with great respect. He then approaches Mother Sita with humility and offers his salutations from a distance. Recognising him as the trusted messenger of Sri Rama, Sita eagerly asks about the welfare of the Lord, Lakshmana, and the entire Vanara army.

Hanuman joyfully announces that Sri Rama is safe and victorious, that Ravana has been defeated in battle, and that Vibhishana has been established firmly on the throne of Lanka. Hearing this long-awaited message, Mother Sita is overwhelmed with divine joy. Her body thrills with emotion and her eyes fill with tears of happiness.

Unable to find any material gift worthy of Hanuman’s priceless service, Sita blesses him with the highest spiritual treasure. She prays that all noble virtues may forever reside in his heart and that Lord Rama, along with Lakshmana, may always remain gracious and favourable towards him.

Hanuman humbly replies that seeing Sri Rama victorious, safe, and united with Lakshmana is itself equal to gaining sovereignty over the entire universe.

Pad 107 beautifully celebrates devotion, humility, selfless service, divine grace, the triumph of righteousness, and the eternal bond between Lord Rama, Mother Sita, and Hanuman. It teaches us that the greatest reward for true devotion is not material wealth or position, but the grace, remembrance, and loving presence of the Divine.

Let us listen to and contemplate this sacred passage of Sri Ram Charit Manas and experience the joy of Rama’s victory, Sita’s blessed relief, and Hanuman’s incomparable devotion.

Jai Shri Ram! Jai Siya Ram! Jai Hanuman!

पुनि प्रभु बोलि लियउ हनुमाना। लंका जाहु कहेउ भगवाना॥

समाचार जानकिहि सुनावहु। तासु कुसल लै तुम्ह चलि आवहु॥

फिर प्रभु ने हनुमान् जी को बुला लिया। भगवान् ने कहा- तुम लंका जाओ। जानकी को सब समाचार सुनाओ और उसका कुशल-समाचार लेकर तुम चले आओ ॥ १ ॥

तब हनुमंत नगर महुँ आए। सुनि निसिचरी निसाचर धाए॥

बहु प्रकार तिन्ह पूजा कीन्ही। जनकसुता देखाइ पुनि दीन्ही॥

तब हनुमान् जी नगर में आये। यह सुनकर राक्षस-राक्षसी उनके सत्कार केलिये दौड़े। उन्होंने बहुत प्रकार से हनुमान् जी की पूजा की और फिर श्रीजानकी जी को दिखला दिया ॥ २ ॥

दूरिहि ते प्रनाम कपि कीन्हा। रघुपति दूत जानकीं चीन्हा॥

कहहु तात प्रभु कृपानिकेता। कुसल अनुज कपि सेन समेता॥

हनुमान् जी ने सीता जी को दूर से ही प्रणाम किया। जानकी जी ने पहचान लिया कि यह वही श्रीरघुनाथ जी का दूत है और पूछा हे तात! कहो, कृपा के धाम मेरे प्रभु छोटे भाई और वानरों की सेना सहित कुशल से तो हैं? ॥३॥

सब बिधि कुसल कोसलाधीसा। मातु समर जीत्यो दससीसा।।

अबिचल राजु बिभीषन पायो। सुनि कपि बचन हरष उर छायो।।

हनुमान् जी ने कहा कि हे माता! कोसल पति श्रीराम जी सब प्रकार से सकुशल हैं। उन्होंने संग्राम में दस सिरवाले रावण को जीत लिया है और विभीषण ने अचल राज्य प्राप्त किया है। हनुमान् जी के वचन सुनकर सीता जी के हृदय में हर्ष छा गया ॥ ४॥

छं०- अति हरष मन तन पुलक लोचन सजल कह पुनि पुनि रमा।

का देउँ तोहि त्रैलोक महुँ कपि किमपि नहिं बानी समा॥

सुनु मातु मैं पायो अखिल जग राजु आजु न संसयं।

रन जीति रिपुदल बंधु जुत पस्यामि राममनामयं॥

श्रीजानकी जी के हृदय में अत्यन्त हर्ष हुआ। उनका शरीर पुलकित हो गया और नेत्रों में आनन्दाश्रुओं का जल छा गया। वे बार-बार कहती हैं- हे हनुमान्! मैं तुझे क्या दूँ? इस वाणी समाचार के समान तीनों लोकों में और कुछ भी नहीं है! हनुमान् जी ने कहा-  हे माता! सुनिये, मैंने आज निःसन्देह सारे जगत् का राज्य पा लिया, जो मैं रण में शत्रुसेना को जीत कर भाई सहित निर्विकार श्रीराम जी को देख रहा हूँ।

दो० - सुनु सुत सदगुन सकल तव हृदयँ बसहुँ हनुमंत।

सानुकूल कोसलपति रहहुँ समेत अनंत ॥107॥

जानकी जी ने कहा हे पुत्र! सुन, समस्त सद्‌गुण तेरे हृदय में बसें और हे हनुमान्! शेष अर्थात् लक्ष्मण जी सहित कोसलपति प्रभु सदा तुझपर प्रसन्न रहें ॥
