Welcome to Prof. S. V. S. S. Narayana Raju YouTube Channel.

In today’s UGC NET Hindi lecture, we explore Sri Ramcharitmanas, Bal Kand, Pad 71, composed by the great poet-saint Goswami Tulsidas. This passage presents an emotionally significant moment in the story of Goddess Parvati and her parents, Himavan and Maina.

After Sage Narada departs for Brahmaloka, Queen Maina privately expresses her concern to her husband about Parvati’s future. As a loving mother, she wishes that her beloved daughter should be married only to a worthy bridegroom belonging to an excellent family and possessing qualities suitable for her. She even says that it would be better for Parvati to remain unmarried than to be given to an unsuitable husband.

Himavan lovingly consoles her and assures her that Sage Narada’s words can never prove false. He advises her to give up anxiety and remember the Supreme Lord, because the same Divine Power that has created Parvati will surely ensure her welfare and guide her destiny.

Through this beautiful episode, Goswami Tulsidas highlights the deep affection of parents for their daughter, faith in the words of the Guru, trust in divine providence, patience, and surrender to God’s will. Pad 71 thus teaches us that sincere faith and devotion give strength to overcome anxiety and uncertainty.

Let us now study the verses, their meaning, poetic beauty, spiritual significance, and important points from the perspective of UGC NET Hindi examination preparation.
