Welcome to this spiritual exploration of Sri Ramcharitmanas, composed by the great saint-poet Goswami Tulsidas.

In today’s episode, we reflect upon Lanka Kand, Pad 110, a profound passage that follows the defeat of Ravana and reveals the divine glory, compassion, and eternal nature of Lord Sri Rama.

After receiving the command of Sri Rama, Matali, the charioteer of Indra, bows at the Lord’s feet and departs. The gods then approach Sri Rama and offer their prayers. Tulsidas presents a subtle observation here: although the gods are often motivated by their own interests, they now speak as though inspired by the highest spiritual wisdom. They praise Sri Rama as Deenabandhu—the friend of the helpless—and as the compassionate Lord who extends grace even to the celestial beings.

The gods express their wonder that Ravana, who had spent his life in hostility, lust, greed, arrogance, anger, and unrighteous conduct, ultimately attained the feet of the Lord. His destiny demonstrates the immeasurable power of divine grace.

They recognize Sri Rama not merely as a heroic king but as the eternal, imperishable Brahman—unchanging, unborn, sinless, invincible, compassionate, and possessed of unfailing divine power.

The verses recall the various incarnations assumed by the Supreme Being—Matsya, Kurma, Varaha, Narasimha, Vamana, and Parashurama—to protect righteousness and relieve the suffering of the world. Whenever evil grows powerful and the forces of Dharma are endangered, the Divine manifests in different forms to restore balance and protect creation.

A deeply introspective moment follows when the gods themselves confess that, despite their exalted status, they have remained attached to selfish interests and have forgotten true devotion. They therefore surrender themselves at the feet of Sri Rama and pray for liberation from the endless current of worldly existence.

Finally, all the gods and Siddhas stand before the Lord with folded hands. Filled with devotion and divine emotion, Lord Brahma begins to offer an exalted hymn of praise to Sri Rama.

Thus, Pad 110 presents a powerful spiritual message: worldly position, power, and privilege cannot replace devotion. True liberation begins with humility, surrender, remembrance of God, and recognition of divine grace.

Through this beautiful passage, Goswami Tulsidas reveals Sri Rama as both the compassionate protector of devotees and the eternal Supreme Reality who descends for the protection of Dharma and the welfare of all beings.

Let us now enter into the divine meaning, philosophical depth, and devotional beauty of Sri Ramcharitmanas, Lanka Kand, Pad 110.
