Welcome to Prof. S. V. S. S. Narayana Raju YouTube
Channel.
In today’s lecture, we explore Sri Ramcharitmanas,
Bal Kand, Pad 77, composed by the great poet-saint Goswami Tulsidas. This
significant passage presents the profound dialogue between Lord Sri Rama and
Lord Shiva, highlighting the timeless ideals of obedience, devotion, duty,
wisdom, and complete surrender to the divine will.
Lord Shiva humbly declares that although a
particular course of action may not appear appropriate to him personally, the
command of the Lord cannot be disregarded. He considers obedience to the words
of one’s parents, Guru, and Lord as a supreme duty. His words reveal an
exemplary combination of humility, devotion, discrimination, and dharma.
Pleased with Lord Shiva’s devotion and wisdom, Sri
Rama blesses him and reminds him to remain firm in the promise concerning
Parvati. After Sri Rama disappears, Lord Shiva preserves His divine form in his
heart. At that moment, the Saptarishis the Seven Sages arrive before Lord
Shiva, and he instructs them to go to Parvati, test the depth and purity of her
love, persuade Himalaya to bring her back home, and remove all doubts regarding
the divine union.
This Pad beautifully teaches us that true devotion
is expressed through humility, obedience, steadfastness, faith in the Guru, and
commitment to righteous duty. It also prepares the narrative for the sacred
union of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati.
Through this lecture, we shall examine the literary
meaning, philosophical significance, devotional values, ethical message, and
important points relevant to UGC NET Hindi examinations contained in Bal Kand,
Pad 77.
Let us enter into the spiritual and poetic world of
Goswami Tulsidas and understand how Sri Ramcharitmanas continues to guide human
life through the eternal values of Bhakti, Dharma, Viveka, and Seva.
